Great! More oppression.
> The UN describes this goal as “an open, free, secure and human-centered digital future.”
That is like.. the opposite of what this is!
> The digital future as envisaged by these groups is going to be quite the opposite of open, free, or human-centric, however.
Indeed!
Frick these controlling mother-frickers and their view of the world that is completelly upside down. Freedom starts at the individual, and tying us down and controlling our identities and our economic capabilities has nothing to do with freedom. It's tyranny and a desire to say what people can and will do, plain and simple!
> people, devices, and entities, all tied up in a connected network that could apparently be centrally administered
F that! >:(
> When those planning this future scheme worry about any negative impact, they never see it as potentially affecting everyone – but only “civil society (…) or selected groups excluded from social benefits.”
their idea of a "civil society" is one in which the rich rob the poor, and where the people at large have no say. I don't like it one bit!
> Swedish biometrics company Fingerprint Cards has taken a big step into the WEF’s New Champions Community, an assembly of mid-sized enterprises.
Cool, I am a Swedish citizen as well and last time I went to renew my passport it took months and they were utterly unable to provide any kind of useful information about the state of things and the expected amount of time. The government of that country is a bunch of incompetent asshats when it comes to digitalisation of IDs. So good luck to Sweden and any company in that country having any kind of say about what the digital future looks like. How about you fix your issuance of passports and ID-cards first?
