- carlosjobim 3y agoYou didn't understand my comment. There is a difference between distinctly man-made gods and gods that are not man-made. Some ideas and literal objects such as your government, the United Nations, any church, Spiderman, the US Dollar, the British pound, and AI are all man made, and no sane person would deny that. Even so, many people show religious loyalty and worship towards some of those entities, and they will also towards AI.
- sureglymop 3y agoYes. But you wrote "The Bible warns..". I think the parent comment commented on the fact that you quoted the Bible, a book about a potentially man made god for the point you were making. I don't take a side in this but I can see where they are coming from.
- carlosjobim 3y agoThe Bible leaves limitless room of interpretation to what God is. First and most, God is not a local chieftain or a king - which made these kind of "invisible God" religions so important for humanity. The instinct humans are born with is for limitless obedience and worship a man. So most people who lived and died did that, wether it was your local king, the Jade emperor, the Cæsar, Joseph Stalin, Muhammed or the pope. The writings in the Bible is a revolution against these faulty ideas, and gives peopler a chance to imagine beyond.
- gloryjulio 3y agoTo me God is big bang
- nuc1e0n 3y agoThe concept of the big bang was first proposed by a priest. Recent measurements taken by the James Webb space telescope do not fit with the theory and suggest that it is inaccurate.
- gloryjulio 3y agoI don't think you could just deny the big bang theory with just one throwaway sentence. But it's your right to believe whatever you want.
- nuc1e0n 3y agoNo of course you couldn't. There would need to be evidence produced and not just some arbitrary beliefs. Some people believe all sorts of things right?
- gloryjulio 3y agoNot sure what your point is. > Recent measurements taken by the James Webb space telescope do not fit with the theory and suggest that it is inaccurate. I was merely pointing out what your described doesn't have much weight. Not enough evidence yet
- nuc1e0n 3y agoOk. That's a fair point. I agree more evidence is required. But a hypothesis, such as that there was a big bang, can be proposed regardless of evidence.
- gloryjulio 3y agoAs a layman with only university level of physics education, I would accept unknown, probably and status quo for most of the answers unless sufficient new evidences and expert analysis give rise to new conclusions.
