first rule of Leadership - "Everything is Your Fault" . YES. but leadership is not management. And i fully agree that management is "nuanced social and political task" . And politics is contradictory to most structured stuff, esp. software. But still, if someone does not want to know/grow, no point pushing. It's painful at both sides. May need completely different approach, mostly outside the scope of team.
