- BearOso 3y agoDirect scanout resolves that. If you're one of those people that disables vsync, that's being worked on. VRR works well on kwin/Wayland, too. Gnome has fallen behind on that a bit.
- bravetraveler 3y agoThe one frame of latency for synchronization isn't that interesting. You've summarized it well, one frame. The cost of this goes down as the refresh/frame rate goes up. At 144hz this is 6.94ms With that said, I would absolutely love to see fps kept in check with frame times I'm sure you're aware, just saying for the audience: 100 FPS dropping to the floor at fractions of a second feels worse than a consistent 50, but looks great on paper
