If not Israeli ones, wouldn’t it be Russian or Chinese made ones instead? There are no shortage of weapons manufacturers in the world. Doubly so for cyber weapons, where the cost of entry is so low.

  Stolen tools being sold on the blackmarket != tools being sold with government knowledge and permission. Maybe there are actual examples, but this isn't one of them.

      I believe ComputerGuru was thinking of cyber weapons as discussed in the article. There's very little need to think too hard for examples of the US selling conventional weapons to despotic regimes; and you certainly don't need to go back to the Iran Contra to find the US doing so. In any case ComputerGuru is rightly distinguishing between stolen leaked weapons versus deliberately selling them. He's not saying that that it hasn't happened, merely that he chosen example was trash.

Let's start selling nuclear weapons before the Russians do it! /s Does that sound reasonable? It is a very week justification and raises the question "are we the baddies?".

  Nuclear weapons? No. But we are the premier arms dealer of the world, and some of our clients are beyond sketchy. I don't see how we have the moral authority to point fingers here.

Why downplay what the israeli's are doing? They should be accountable. And in the case of cyber weapons, NSO group, an israeli company, do sell their services to anyone willing to pay.
