Is it common for people to use web apps first when a native client is available?
- SahAssar 3y agoYes. I refuse to use native apps when the functionality can be as good in a web app. Things like chat, email, watching videos, listening to music, etc. A lot of the time the "native" app is using electron anyway, so why go through the hassle of installing it when it is just a app-specific browser?
- HumblyTossed 3y agoFrom commercial entities, hell yes. They don't need a permanent spot on my device.
- galleywest200 3y agoI like to save websites as "apps" on my devices and use it that way. I do generally prefer web-apps I suppose but I also greatly appreciate the distraction reduction of NOT being in a browser, as the internet has infinite distractions.
- lost_tourist 3y agoi do because it's a lot easier to limit what an "app" can do on your system. It's a sandbox of a sort.
