First, it’s hilarious that the CEO of Wendy’s says ordering is the slowest part. Lol, no waiting for my freaking order (which has been terrible since the pandemic started) is the slowest part. More seriously, the fast food restaurants in my area are randomly closed all the time. They just don’t have the staff. I also suspect the business metrics simply do not allow them to pay more. While I doubt AI will lead to higher pay, it seems to be the only way that fast food will survive. They staff only kitchen staff and push everything else to the customer. On the occasion that something goes wrong (1) kitchen staff will help (2) it will go really wrong.
