Why starlink and not National Broadband Ireland fibre connectivity?
Why starlink and not National Broadband Ireland fibre connectivity?
Do they serve tiny islands where it's likely very expensive to maintain a reliable connection to the “mainland”?
No. Technically there's a plan to reach every household, but there are still tons of houses an hour from from Dublin with no broadband, so the chance of the NBI build out reaching these islands any time soon is remote.
Is it even real fibre or is it DSL/cable/some other BS mis-sold as "fibre" like they do in the UK?
