What’s a piece of software that doesn’t get enough coverage?
Not sure if this is allowed: I’m in the process of scripting some videos for my YouTube channel. I began thinking, all these Linux and windows YouTubers show mostly the same software over and over. So I figured I’d go to the heart of everything: HN. What’s a piece of windows or Linux software that doesn’t get enough coverage?
- ukmac 3y agoEspanso. ( https://espanso.org/ https://espanso.org/ ). Love this free open source text expansion software
- steeler_train 3y agoThat’s pretty sweet! How do you use it personally? I’m gonna read up on it and test it and add it to my list! Thank you for the suggestion!
- LightBug1 3y agoMyLifeOrganized https://www.mylifeorganized.net/ https://www.mylifeorganized.net/ Been running my life using their software for years. Also, they're a team in Ukraine negotiating software development in war conditions.
- steeler_train 3y agoI’d love to! Their software costs though :/. They’d need to provide me a key even just for 30 days so I could use it and make a video about it. Thank you though!
- LightBug1 3y agoOh, I could have sworn they had trial periods. If not, reach out to their support or their founder Andrey. They've always been open and flexible with me. https://blog.mylifeorganized.net/2015/05/mylifeorganized-history.html?m=1 https://blog.mylifeorganized.net/2015/05/mylifeorganized-his...
- decide1000 3y agoSadly no linux version
- LightBug1 3y agoTrue, OP said either though. Reckon they're a small team so I'll allow it, lol.
- ttfkam 3y agoThe Brave browser. I often forget all those annoying access banners exist until I use another browser for testing. "Do you want to set all the cookies? [Yes] [Go into fine-grained settings and sacrifice a goat, but no promises we won't track anyway]" "But I was just reading to find out which cheese is better for burgers?"
- steeler_train 3y agoThat’s actually on my list already haha. Any suggestions you think would be good for the video (like customization?)
- helph67 3y agouBlock Origin a very efficient browser extension that blocks ads and more. Been using it for years and recommend it! https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock
- steeler_train 3y agoI actually use it! That’s swe! Thank you! Any specific parts of it that get overlooked that you wish more people used or realized? Favorite filters?
- anditherobot 3y agoChatGpt, I haven't heard of it much. I must be living under a rock
- steeler_train 3y agoLmfao weirdly enough, that’s all I hear about at work (I work in tech) is AI and chatgpt. It’s driving me bananas.
