For anyone without an LWN sub (though it's a good idea!) the post is just digging into the details of how bcachefs is now in a position to be merged into the Linux kernel if Linus allows it, as well as some of the concerns about long term support given its complexity. bcachefs was discussed recently on HN – https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35899527 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35899527 – and is a file system with COW, a GPL compatible license (licensing is an area where ZFS can be tricky, to put it lightly), and ext4 levels of performance.
