I'm a long time Reddit user, joined around 2008. I absolutely love it, it's pretty much the only social platform I frequent and engage in every day. How many platforms exist where users stick around for 15+ years? All the stuff that went down over the last month, the outrageous API pricing, the smearing of Apollo's developer, the gaslighting, corpospeak and non-answers in Huffman's "AMA", his complete tone-deaf memo, the ouster of mods, they have left such a foul taste in my mouth that even if they were to reverse course, which seems unlikely at best, I'm not sure if I'm sticking around after July 1st. Huffman's killing Reddit and I think it's a colossal loss for the Internet. I hope a better alternative will rise from its ashes, one that isn't beholden to shareholders or the whims of one misguided CEO.
