That's an amazing perspective I had never once considered. "The new normal" isn't the current state of things, instead "the new normal" is that we're on a slope. Instead of outliers that then regressions to some mean, it will continue to get worse. We'll have the hottest summer ever multiple years in a row. That's scary.
