- andsoitis 3y agoNot only is the word "material" common/standard in the world of computer graphics but not in the world of UI, MaterialX was launched at Industrial Light and Magic in 2012 (https://materialx.org/index.html https://materialx.org/index.html). Google's Material Design launched two years later, in 2014 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Material_Design https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Material_Design).
