I think you meant to say "substituting stupidity" -- the new thing is the substitute for the old thing.

  Hanlon’s Razor states: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." I’m saying Reddit is incompetent in this case, rather than stupid. Not quite sure what you’re getting at?
