Revenge Served Ice Cold?
- mjamesaustin 3y agoUtterly appalling, and sad to hear. Even in a progressive metropolis like Los Angeles, bigots lurk in positions of power undermining values of equality and equity everywhere. Glad to see them called out publicly, though in my opinion this warrants a thorough internal investigation into the company culture at their former firm, if this kind of behavior was regularly tolerated.

- midoridensha 3y ago"Revenge is a dish best served cold." - ancient Klingon proverb
- david38 3y agoThe time stamps on those emails would indicate the former company tolerated the behavior. Money is money.
- blitzar 3y agoUnless the revenge is for a different offence (than starting a new firm and taking 100 staff with you then slagging off the old firm) then this is not served ice cold, it is straight off the grill. Its playground spat levels, and when you see how dumb they are its no suprise that this is the highest level that they could come up with. As the article and others point out, this kind of revenge - while deeply entertaining, paints both sides in a bad light. Truly "serving up ice cold" would have been to stick the knife in at a moment of triumph. TV lawyers are so much better than the real thing.
- blaze33 3y agoThat's not revenge served cold, that's a firm that embraced everyday racism, sexism and whatever kind of discrimination there is for 15 years. But now that some coworkers went on their own they want to kill the competition. > “We are ashamed of the words we wrote, and we are deeply sorry.” Yeah well, now that everything's public and actively destroying your career, you have a change of heart? And I should trust you? For what I care, they can all go to hell.
- Hitton 3y agoIsn't it just advice for employees to copy their inboxes when leaving company to have a fail-safe in case their former company tries something like that?
- Simulacra 3y agoThe lesson here is to never put something in an email that you wouldn't put on the front page of the Los Angeles times. Conversely, don't put anything in email that you wouldn't want your employer to release to the media to get revenge.
- 0xbadc0de5 3y agoIsn't that just outing themselves? If they were able to release scores of emails where former partners use vile language, are we really expected to believe these were two isolated bad apples rather than the norm for this organization. The pettiness of it seems to suggest the whole batch is rotten.
