Keep in mind that Singapore is predominantly an East Asian city. In East Asia, you'll notice a distinct lack of homeless/crimes - like you see in almost every western city.
In order to get to a state like that, east asians give up more individual rights in exchange for a stable collective society.
So while westerners often sit here and talk bad about this sort of thing, the citizens living in Singapore are very likely to support it.
- fithisux 3y agoSome phenomena start manifesting when they get critical mass. To be more explicit, when the "elit" gets more power, then the transformation of the "dream" into a nightmare will become apparent. Though I'm pretty sure the cracks are obvious way before that, from day one.
