iPhone software quality and performance is way ahead of Android. I am all for open source, even partial, like in case of Android, if there is no other choice. But the Android architecture and code quality, especially apps, is absolutely horrible. We need something like iOS but open source. Even if it runs on top of Linux kernel, just with a proper system and user-level environment.
