If you have expertly written UML and an expert viewer, they will get quite a lot out of it. One of the biggest issues I have seen with UML documentation is that it is extremely difficult to keep it in sync with what the actual implementation does. In one of my past jobs we actually had started an effort to quelch this by generating plantml from code but it never really came to fruition.
