- namaria 3y agoYou know this guy ended up decapitated, and his head put up in the Senate rostra... Talk about a big mouth
- jerf 3y agoA lot of people like to say "people have always been saying that." Fewer people notice that in light of the fact that history has not been on a monotonic universal upwards trend everywhere that many of the people complaining about the younger generation in fact had a point and that generation in particular they were complaining about did in fact get into a lot of trouble. The problem with the statement isn't that the people saying it are always wrong; the problem is that it is always being said to some extent and therefore carries no particular information content in its mere statement. Rates of statement might be relevant but we have nowhere near the data we'd need historically to determine that.
- namaria 3y agoSo it might or it might not be relevant? Noted.
- jerf 3y agoThat is a change from "it's nothing, people are always saying that, so I can dismiss it".
- namaria 3y ago>"it's nothing, people are always saying that, so I can dismiss it". Whoever said that?
- jerf 3y agoSorry, I don't play this game. If you haven't figured out the situation by now throwing an explanatory pearl before swine isn't going to help.
- namaria 3y agoAmigo you're the one propping up my observation as a judgement and attacking it. The one playing games here is you. Name calling is not appreciated.
