Degrowth aka massive reduction of consumption of basically everything would be the only solution, but it's not going to happen. The sad part is that all the irrational optimism from the renewable energy proponents/lobby is a significant contributor to preventing more people from realizing this. Which in turn will mostly prevent politics from trying to enact the necessary policies.
