"The danger of delegating education to journalists",
NAW. It's okay. Not entirely joking, we already do that! It's a standard part of nearly all colleges and universities. It's usually called the Drama Department, in particular where the subject is writing fiction. Or,
"How to grab your audience by the heart, the gut, and below the belt, always below the shoulders, never between the ears."
The "long time" was because I had a tough time believing that journalism would replace good information with just emotion, replace documentation of events with drama about the people involved in the events.
This post is partly parody, but not all.
Yup, I'm beyond merely frustrated and outraged at nearly all of journalism.
For the Hacker News audience, there is maybe an upside: Due to current desktop computer hardware, operating system and applications software, one person with just a coaxial cable connection to the Internet and a business account (so that can receive connections) can bring up a Web site with another approach to journalism.
Gee, just yesterday noticed that Patreon has their relationship with 250,000 "creators", say, Web sites. Some of those sites can be new approaches to journalism. I'm guessing that one result will be, call it, a fragmentation of media/journalism.
