Just sent out my application. I have a thing I am working on in the education space using LLMs and since I would pay out of pocket for Vercel and OpenAI usage and I have no peers to discuss my work with this is pretty much ideal for me. It's motivating and I think it's a nice move. I was set on Nextjs on Vercel anyway so either way I'll be a customer for it so I don't really care if it's mostly a marketing device as others in this thread presumed. I think if both parties win it's a great thing. I am also really curious to see the projects which will eventually be selected. It's an interesting time we live in and I would argue that before we know it we will use highly AI augmented or enabled services in the future which will provide value we don't even know of yet. We had maps before we had google maps. And we had coaches before we had cars. And yeah, a lot of the AI stuff we see these days is mostly cool toys and lots of buzz to ride the wave but I am convinced we will see some really impactful stuff come out of it.
