Hype or not? AI’s benefits for developers explored in the 2023 Developer Survey
- aurareturn 3y agoA lot of hype right now - but the potential is there. Right now, I'm using Copilot but it doesn't have context of the entire project so it routinely suggests wrong code. 20% of the time, it gets what I wanted completely right and I'm amazed. 20% of the time, it annoys me more than it's helpful. 60% of the time, it helps but not that much. It needs bigger contexts and and it needs to see the entire code base. Only then would it become an indispensable tool for coding and no one would want to code without it.
