Too bad it's also a laxative.
- cvccvroomvroom 3y agoMagnesium is too, to a degree. With age, this is often a good property. There are plenty of opioid analogues to decrease it safely.
- StrangeATractor 3y agoMag isn't too bad, I believe you also get acclimated to it (haven't taken it in a while). IME it's not much different from having a fiber-heavy diet.
- tpm 3y agoWith magnesium it's more the specific salts that are laxative. Like the oxide which is both a laxative and has a low bioavailability. Citrate in huge doses is used as a laxative too. On the other hand, I have good experience with the orotate. Lactate and gluconate should be good too.
- scns 3y agoBisglycinate is supposed to have the highest bioavailability.
- carlmr 3y agoAnd IME zero laxative effects. Citrate in normal doses is also okay
- TheSpiceIsLife 3y agoMagnesium amino acid chelate is best for most, especially magnesium di-glycinate.
- freehorse 3y agoMagnesium supplements have laxative effects as long as they are not absorbed. More bioavailable forms of magnesium do not exhibit laxative effects in normal dosages.
- laeri 3y agoI think magnesium can also lead to other issues related to cardiac arrythms. I have no direct source to point to however.
- msla 3y agoSo's Lexapro for some people. (Me. I'm some people.)
- mtlmtlmtlmtl 3y agoThat's funny, the main side effect for me was inability to urinate.
- fyloraspit 3y agoI've had both feelings from MDMA. Urgent need for #2 on come up. Complete inability to perform #1 even though busting at peak. Maybe it's a serotonin thing
- campers 3y agoThe study dosing was 1mg/day, compared to the standard dose as a laxative of 2mg. "In this study, we used a low dose of prucalopride (1 mg as opposed to the licenced dose of 2 mg) to reduce the risk of side effects. At this time, we currently lack information about the optimal dose of prucalopride needed for occupancy of brain 5-HT4 receptors, although data from our previous reports indicate that 1mg is sufficient to demonstrate pro-cognitive potential."
- Detrytus 3y agoClears shit from both your body and your mind, at the same time :)
- scotty79 3y agoI'm not quite sure if laxative is the correct description of this drug, even though it's official one. It is used for treatment of constipation in cases where laxatives don't help. I'm not sure if it has any similar effects in non-constipated people as other laxatives have.
