I first used a fountain pen in an art class in high school. That's when I learned they don't really work for lefties since we push the pen across the page instead of pulling it. Unless you're one of those people who curls their hand around crazily to write with a pulling motion. Either way, the ink is gonna get smudged all to hell.

Da Vinci was a lefty, he solved the problem by writing from right to left. So long as you're the only one who has to read it later, it's a good solution.

  Now I'm curious how right handed people solved it when writing a right-to-left script.
