Jacinta Ardern's model for governing AI
- xkcd-sucks 3y agoEw, this smells like a standard manufacturing-consent piece. It begs the question of "AI" regulation being necessary in the first place, then argues for the creation of a new bureaucracy to govern machine learning. While desired outcomes are absent, the whole thing is written in reference to "emergency" government regulation in the face of terrorism, by the former leader of a nation that has an official censorship function. One, um, advancement in the art that this one makes is it doesn't even cite real or plausible examples of copyright infringement / child porn / terrorism; it just alludes to anonymous experts warning of something unmentionably bad. Maybe Roko's Basilisk

- jjwtieke 3y agoCame here to say this.
- RcouF1uZ4gsC 3y agoIf AI is too dangerous to allow normal people to have it, it is definitely too dangerous for governments and large corporations.
- 0xGod 3y agoNo thanks. Don’t need anything she’s selling.
