Iran's 'quantum processor' turned out to be a $600 dev board
- constantcrying 3y agoBizarre story. How/Why does something like that happen? I tried finding an actual iranian source on this and while there appear to be somewhat official iranian government media sites (propaganda for foreigners), there is no mention of it. Deleted?
- lm28469 3y agoA mix of ego/pride/corruption/propaganda/lack of technological skills, kinda like in Russia. They're so used to propaganda/lie that they somehow get tricked themselves https://www.iranintl.com/en/202304146827 https://www.iranintl.com/en/202304146827 https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2020/04/15/2244140/irgc-unveils-coronavirus-remote-detector https://www.tasnimnews.com/en/news/2020/04/15/2244140/irgc-u...

- pengaru 3y agoIt's propaganda.
- WhereIsTheTruth 3y agoPropaganda vs Propaganda , that's funny isn't it? :D
- heywhatupboys 3y agoThis happens time and time again for any of us native in another language/country. Some foreign media comments on a thing internal to our country, which no "local" news has ever written about, and no local sources say exist
- etempleton 3y agoIn this instance there are several linked state media sites with the story still up.
- constantcrying 3y agoCan you link some? I could not find any.
- ksaj 3y agoI saw the spiel and they didn't say it was a quantum processor. They claim that there was a quantum process used in its development, and they are supposedly the first to have used it. It's hard not to notice they purposely made it look like a quantum processor, though. That was clearly intentional and misleading, and probably why everyone seems to be confusing what their actual claim is. Either way, the quantum process is pretty unlikely since it would have no bearing whatsoever on the product itself. It's literally a commodity item, and indifferent from the many that have come before. So even though they don't claim it is a quantum processor, their actual claim is still quite unlikely. I have a feeling that it's a language translation issue, and they really mean "quantum inspired" or "themed."
