I've been watching the videos of the ladybird browser development, and how it improves it's css compatability. I'm eqal parts impressed and aghast. The standards seem overly complex, and very hard to be compliant. It amazes me how so much code is executed to implement css, and how slow it can be requiring great feats of SW engineering to make it peformant while still correct. It's no wonder there are so few independnt browser engines. Surely something a lot simpler and saner could replace it?
