I'm not fully familiar with the facts of the cases in each jurisdiction, but wasn't there a great deal of crowing in Europe when the UK did the opposite of their EU counterparts and blocked the merger several weeks back? If the US were also to block, it would instead make the EU approving the aquisition the outlier.
