  This is mostly true, but does depend a bit. There are of course investors looking for a steady price and steady dividend (income investors, as opposed to growth). Nobody is ever annoyed when their stock goes up of course, but it isn't always the primary factor in selecting securities. That said, TECH stock investors mostly are growth investors, because the dividends are typically fairly paltry.
