I hate checking baggage in the US. It gets lost, stolen, delayed. It's inconvenient. I hate boarding planes in the US. Everyone is carrying as much junk as they can. Japan is the opposite. Boarding is convenient and quick, and most baggage is checked. It doesn't get lost and it is quick. If you hate baggage fees, you should fight to make checked baggage convenient and safe.
