I think you've well and truly missed the point of that saying. All it really means is that when things go wrong, you shouldn't assume everyone involved is a giant arsehole trying to stick a spanner in the works.

    Yes. The world is complex and nature is against us and things go horribly wrong all the time. And then sometimes humans are arseholes on top of that.
