It's not just augmented reality, it can theoretically do normal VR as well. But it's not a headset compatible with outside computers. It's a computer (and battery) and a headset all connected together. So unless Apple allows new/existing VR games onto their proprietary ecosystem, you won't be able to use the VP to play them.
