Sunak and Biden unveil 'Atlantic Declaration' economic agreement
- jfengel 3y agoSunak needs this very much. Brexit put up a lot of economic barriers around the UK. The US is sort of a weird place to go looking, since we're already pretty closely tied to the UK. A lot of this agreement is very long-term stuff, but not really helping the UK create new markets. It gives Sunak something positive to say, and at least some of the points can be genuinely helpful. But I don't think it's going to save him from the fact that his party is taking a lot of heat for everything that's hard about Brexit, and they will likely fare badly in the next election.
