Sharing your experience or knowledge is not a completely selfless act. Some enjoy the feeling of being an expert, others use this as an opportunity to push their point of view, some just like to help but even that is a benefit for them.

- Veen 3y agoFeeling good when you do good things is, in the main, what makes you a good person. I'm not sure it's sensible to describe such people as essentially selfish.
- thih9 3y ago“Feeling good when you do good things” could be seen as a definition of hedonism ;) I’d describe selflessness in this context as accepting that a community might have different rules and see someone’s actions as not helpful, despite their best intentions.
