I would agree that the putting goggles over your face is absurd and it will never be a hit, not in a million years. However! Having that proof of concept to be able to manipulate your environment with just a gesture of your fingers and simply by looking at something - this I believe can be extended to external cameras, screens, and all sorts of IoT devices.
- curiousgal 3y agoNot to mention how dry your eyes would be from wearing that thing for hours, like seriously, why is no one talking about that?
- threeseed 3y agoBecause dry eyes is not an issue that plagues the majority of people. And whilst you do blink less whilst wearing VR glasses it's on par with looking at a computer screen.
- evilos 3y agoWhy would your eyes be drier? If anything they'd be more moist because there's less air movement around them right?
- Ireallyapart 3y agoAlso moisture is trapped in the enclosure between eye and screen.
- zeknife 3y agoIt's not like it prevents you from blinking
- cracrecry 3y agoI have used several VR devices. Never had a problem with dry eyes. >why is no one talking about that? Because it is not an issue for most people?
- jabradoodle 3y agoThe eye tracking uses multiple cameras centimetres from your face. Eye and gesture tracking don't require expensive VR hardware projects to code up.
