- caskstrength 3y agoYou misunderstood. Such rules never apply to _those_ people's performance reviews. They are only for peons.
- himinlomax 3y agoSame with open office plans. Managers who implement them always seem to end up with a private office, for some weird reasons.
- teddyh 3y agoOr, as is often reported, they commandeer one of the conference rooms for themselves.
- lisper 3y agoThe idea that Urs was hard core about colocation is absolutely false. I was a direct report to Urs when he was VP engineering and I telecommuted one day every week. Urs successor, Wayne Rosing, was much stricter than Urs ever was.
- laurentlb 3y agoNo, remote work is still allowed. It might be a bit more difficult to switch to a remote work contract now (but still possible), but people who are already remote will continue like this.
- deelowe 3y ago> people who are already remote will continue like this My understanding is that everyone has to get approval even people who are currently remote. For those who are near an office, they are being told to expect to be asked to come in frequently.
- laurentlb 3y agoMany people applied for fully remote work last year and got a contract with it (often with a different compensation). They already got the approval. What changes is that new approvals will be "by exception only".
