String theory lied to us and now science communication is hard
- 7thaccount 3y agoI watched this recently. Good video I thought that helped explain things to me. Her comment that she doubts a university will ever hire another string theorist seems damning if true. I always figured it was originally a common position as it's so cheap compared to a physicist that needs equipment to run experiments. Apparently it was mainly done for grant money when everyone thought string theory was going to be the next thing, but basically very few believe that now
