They fed mice 1g taurine per 1kg body weight per day. For me that would be 80g per day. 1kg of pure taurine cost 25€ on Amazon. That makes a 1.20€ per day.

Sounds okay.
- ruffrey 3y agoIt would likely be less. See approaches like allometric scaling of dosages.
- k__ 3y agoEven better! I'd expect my blood pressure going through the roof with 80g taurine per day.
- canucker2016 3y agoThey also fed female rhesus monkeys 250mg/kg taurine - 1/4 of the mice dosage. Makes the value-calculations even more palatable (does taurine have flavour?)
- A_D_E_P_T 3y agoAfter scaling, it comes out to 6.5 grams per day. (See my comment above.) DO NOT take 80g taurine in a day. You probably won't die, but it's a terrible idea.
- k__ 3y ago:D I wouldn't. I just evaluated how much it could cost to gain a few years. But thanks!
- HPsquared 3y agoMice have faster metabolism, so eat more of everything per kg of body weight per day. Square-cube law in action!
