Show HN: Build a personal knowledge graph from the content you consume online
I've been working on this tool that lets you build a personal knowledge graph from articles, blog posts, podcasts, YouTube videos, and other content you find interesting online. You can safely forget everything and trust that Recall will resurface it when something new that is related comes up. Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback on how it could be improved!
The original version of Recall was posted last year nov on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33425947 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33425947
Since then I have pivoted to a browser extension.
- gligorevic 3y agoHey, co-founder of Recall here. I'm looking forward to hearing from HN community.

- 3uler 3y agoI really like the idea of this! I’ve always wanted a tool that automatically extracts value from my bookmarks. Being able to just save something and come back to it via metadata and keywords automatically extracted from it seems like a huge win for me!

- thereviewcare 3y agoWhat are some of the use-cases you have for this?
- paulrchds 3y agoYou can use it for research of a specific topic or just keeping track of the content that you consume.
- thereviewcare 3y agoThis has the potential to be an amazing tool, especially for researchers. How are you planning to handle data privacy? Is my data stored locally, or in the cloud I could only use something like this if I could have my data local or e2e encrypted.
- paulrchds 3y agoWhen you save a knowledge card to the Recall app it is stored locally in indexeddb in your web browser. We have a syncing engine that is used to sync between devices and for back which also stores your data in the "cloud". Right now, its not e2e encrypted.
- willamjohn 3y agoReally like the idea! I can see the benefits finding connections between different knowledge pieces I've collected. Does your platform support any sort of integration with other apps like Obsidian or Notion?
- paulrchds 3y agoRight now you can copy the content as markdown which you can then paste into other notetaking tools that support md.
- sankapanka 3y agoBeen a follower of recall from the start. Really love the direction and the latest browser extension. It was buggy at first, but seen significant improvements. I’m a fan.
- cahaya 3y agoGood idea to pivot it to a browser extension
- Wannaberunner 3y agoI've missed that you pivoted to the browser extension, will try it asap!
- carlossouza 3y agoNice tool. How do you plan to drive awareness/growth?
- paulrchds 3y agoRight now, its just social media and word of mouth
- napier 3y agoDoes it preserve readable (ad stripped) versions of pages I collect from falling to link rot, and does it automatically convert everything into content type adapative embeddings for citable chat querying with GPT-4 / user’s own personal LLM?
