I use the programmer variant of dvorak. The number keys are 'swapped' with symbols, so you press shift to access numbers. Given that most programmers (should) use symbols more often than numbers, this is highly convenient. Strongly recommend checking it out. For the record, I mostly use python nowadays but it's still a big improvement over mashing shift all day.
