Such a frustrating article. Does it work! That's all I want to know! This is such a trash article. The author clearly wanted to tackle this topic -it's a good topic, but didn't actually find any pre-existing concrete facts that could answer the question and so just wrote the article without answering the question.
Are wildfire particles bigger or smaller than 0.1 microns? I don't know, this article doesn't say, and without that knowledge you can't say the Dyson Zone works in this case.
On top of that, it's not actually clear to me that the Zone actually works as a product at all - yes the air that goes through the filters gets filtered to some scientifically measurable degree, but does that filtered actually get into your lungs? Because the mask is not sealed, so it's perfectly possible when you take a deep breath you just suck in a tonne of air from around the mask and so your 99.9% pure air is suddenly 50:50 mixed with completely impure air.

It sends a flow of filtered air towards your nostril but that flow mixes with the surrounding air. Anecdotal reviews all talk about how they can smell the surrounding air, meaning that particles get into your nose and then lungs. I saw a review by a doctor discussing about how having a constant flow of air pointed at the nose will dry the nasal mucosa which would offset any advantages from the flow of mixed fileted/non-filtered air.
