Show HN: See Your Future Baby In AI-Generated Photos
- jjgreen 3y agoBrilliant and horrific at the same time ...
- gohyifan 3y agoWhy horrific?
- jjgreen 3y agoI see you are the submitter, possibly the creator of this, I hope you do not take offence. I think this is brilliant as an idea: provided you can provide the service as described, sure to be a success. Horrific since it feeds the narcissism which I view as blight, no a plague on the world. Were any of my friends to use the service I would drop them, change my phone number and pretend never to have met them.
- gohyifan 3y agoNo offence taken. I understood what you mean now.
- latexr 3y agoEverything about the website looks fake, the testimonials in particular. At first I got suspicious because the photographs of the couples looked like those promotional ad shots no one takes in real life, but on closer inspection even those are clearly AI generated¹. The text of the reviews doesn’t help either. If you’re faking testimonials, I don’t see why anyone should trust the service. ¹ Even if we were to ignore the excessive airbrushing, look at the neck on the rightmost couple: https://i.imgur.com/kkI3xrN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kkI3xrN.jpg
- gohyifan 3y agoBecause I just launched and don't have any testimonials. It's a chicken and egg conundrum. I will replace with real testimonials when they come in.
- latexr 3y agoIf you don’t have testimonials, don’t add any. Deliberately lying erodes trust at all levels, including in your privacy policy. It is not a “chicken and egg conundrum”, you don’t need testimonials for someone to try a service. If anything, you’re pushing away anyone who sees through the dishonesty of the fake reviews.
- gohyifan 3y agoOk I'll remove that section now. Thanks for your feedback. EDIT: It's done.
