Chat GPT is impressive in my opinion, but I am still far more amazed by solid diffusion and what people do with it.
In practice Chat GPT is mostly used to reformulate some texts or generate spam from my experience. Perhaps some companies use it for service and that is slightly dystopian. I tend to get angry when I have to chat with a bot, even if this one would be far more eloquente.
It also can tell you convincing facts that might be completely wrong.
- sfn42 3y agoYeah ChatGPT is great. Really cool tech. I just don't think it's going to change or take over the world, or take people's jobs. It's far too unreliable. People don't understand that it's just a text generator. It can't really solve problems and stuff, it just produces some text that seems to make sense in a given context. No matter how much they improve it or add more training data or whatever i don't see how they can change that. Seems to me it's already past it's limit in terms of resource requirements etc.
