The essential epistemic problem of the modern world is “who do you trust”?
- JohnFen 3y agoI have two things about trust. The first is that trust is earned over time. I trust nobody and nothing until I have had enough experience with them to understand if, and how, they can be trusted. Which leads to the second point... Nobody and nothing is 100% trustworthy in every circumstance. Such perfection does not exist, period. When I say I "trust" someone, what I mean is that I think I know them well enough to have a handle on what they can be trusted about, and under what circumstances.
