Exactly. If you're starting from zero (i.e. the learning state that the app promises to help you with), you're just learning to repeat gibberish. Which to some extent is what we're doing when we learn languages -- but hopefully no more than about 20 percent of the time. It doesn't even tell us what to make of, gee, all those funny umlauts and stuff. I suppose I'll just have to guess. Like most language apps - better than absolutely nothing, but on balance - pretty awful. (Partial apologies to the creator -- I know you've worked hard on this. But still -- these are my impressions).
