I'm Gen-X, but I think Z is making the right call in thinking about FIRE. If the older generations have built a economic structure that the younger generations want to opt of, then that is the old generation's fault. It isn't on the younger people to just deal with it. The older generations will experience (if not learn) the consequences of voting selfishly all the time, and that price will be paid, sooner or later.
