Are tips for counter service actually going to the workers or just directly into the profit line of the owners?
- verall 3y agoIt's illegal in the US for any percentage of tips to go to owners or managers. Now, it's the US, so wage and tip theft is abundant, and owners can pay the ~$2/hr "tipped minimum wage", thereby indirectly profiting from tips, but it is illegal for owners or managers to receive tips.
