- weinzierl 3y agoMe too, is there a list of soundness holes in Rust anywhere? Also, if anyone has read the book, are there any interesting Rust counterexamples?
- nequo 3y agoTheir issue tracker has a label for soundness holes: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/labels/I-unsound https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/labels/I-unsound
- Taywee 3y agoNot a counterexample of the type system of Rust itself, but this one with LLVM following C and C++ definitions of "side-effects" is interesting: https://counterexamples.org/eventually-nothing.html https://counterexamples.org/eventually-nothing.html
- ReleaseCandidat 3y agoDon't know what's interesting for you, but this is definitly interesting: https://counterexamples.org/eventually-nothing.html https://counterexamples.org/eventually-nothing.html I've also found these https://counterexamples.org/nearly-universal.html https://counterexamples.org/nearly-universal.html https://counterexamples.org/selfishness.html https://counterexamples.org/selfishness.html

- zyedidia 3y agoI came across this issue in Rust recently: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/57893 https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/57893. I thought it was interesting since it lets you easily write transmute in safe Rust: https://zyedidia.github.io/blog/posts/5-safe-transmute/ https://zyedidia.github.io/blog/posts/5-safe-transmute/.
