So, hopefully not too much longer!
- baggy_trough 3y agoUnfortunately I think there's some patent/legal headache involved.
- Timon3 3y agoThat's rather unlikely, otherwise they wouldn't already ship it behind a feature flag.
- baggy_trough 3y agoApparently there isn't really anything behind that flag. See: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/75459594/why-doesnt-edge-support-avif-images https://stackoverflow.com/questions/75459594/why-doesnt-edge...
- Timon3 3y agoIf you're referring to the first answer, the last update is almost a month older than the article I posted. Are you referring to something else? If not, are you suggesting the article I posted is lying? There are a bunch of articles on this topic/flag, which were posted on the same day as the link I wrote earlier (17th of April).
- baggy_trough 3y agoI am suggesting the article is wrong. The article looks like a low quality SEO spam regurgitated from prior reports of this flag. I tried the suggestion in the article. It didn't work for me. Does it work for you?
- Timon3 3y agoI just tried in todays Edge Canary - the AVIF image is not shown correctly, but the flag does make Edge attempt to load it. Since it's the Canary branch you know there is a good chance it's just broken in the current build, right?
- baggy_trough 3y agoThat is possible, but I believe it is more likely that it's been removed/commented out due to IP issues.
